Terms of use

The short version: this site is information and an introduction, not a diagnosis and not a contract for work.

What this site is

Blackland Foundation Repair publishes general information about foundation movement in Central Texas and introduces homeowners to licensed foundation contractors. Using the site does not create a contract between you and us for any work.

Information here is general, not advice about your house

Everything published on this site — soil descriptions, failure modes, repair methods, cost ranges — is general information about the region. It is not an assessment of any particular property, and it is not engineering advice.

Determining the cause of foundation movement in a specific house, and recommending a specific repair for it, is the practice of engineering in Texas and requires a licensed professional engineer. We are not engineers and nothing here should be read as an engineering opinion about your home.

Cost figures are ranges, not quotes

Any price or range published here is drawn from general market information for the region. It is not an offer, not a quote, and not a prediction of what your repair will cost. Only a contractor who has visited your property can price your job.

The contractor relationship

Foundation work is performed by our carefully selected, licensed and insured partner companies.

Any agreement for work is between you and that contractor directly. They are responsible for the work they perform, for their own licensing and insurance, and for any warranty they offer. We are not a party to that agreement and we do not supervise, control, or guarantee the work. Read anything you are asked to sign, and satisfy yourself about the contractor before you sign it.

Accuracy

We take care with what is published here and cite sources where we can, but geology varies address by address, market prices move, and errors are possible. Verify anything you intend to rely on — soil series for a specific property can be checked for free in the NRCS Web Soil Survey.
