About Blackland Foundation Repair
A plain description of what this is, including the parts most sites in this industry leave out.
What we do
We publish material about why foundations move on the Blackland Prairie, and we connect homeowners in Central Texas with licensed foundation contractors who provide free estimates.
What we are not
We are not a foundation contractor. We do not perform foundation work, we do not hold contractor licences, and we are not engineers. We do not inspect houses and we do not diagnose foundations — determining the cause of movement in a specific home is the practice of engineering in Texas, and it belongs to licensed professional engineers.
If you want an opinion on your own house from someone with no stake in the answer,we explain how to go about that — including when it is worth the fee and when it is not.
How we make money
When we connect you with a contractor and you decide to hire them, we are paid by the contractor. You are not charged anything by us, and the estimate itself is free and carries no obligation.
That arrangement gives us an incentive worth naming out loud: we earn nothing if you decide you do not need work. It is why this site publishes cost ranges before anyone visits, and why it tells you to consider paying an independent engineer who has no such incentive. We would rather be the site you trust than the site that converted you once.
Where we cover
Williamson, Travis and Bastrop Counties, Texas — concentrated on the Blackland Prairie corridor northeast of Austin. We are adding towns one at a time and researching each one properly rather than publishing the same page with the name changed.
Foundation work is performed by our carefully selected, licensed and insured partner companies.
